The Number of the Beast’ is the third studio album by English metal band Iron Maiden. It was released in March 1982, and was the first to feature vocalist Bruce Dickinson. It was a major commercial success for the band, entering the UK album chart at #1, and going on to sell over 15 million copies worldwide. It also gave them their first top 10 single in the UK with ‘Run for the Hills’. It was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine at fourth in their list of the top 100 metal albums of all time.
