80s London and New York collided in the short-lived supergroup The Power Station, uniting Duran Duran’s John and Andy Taylor, Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and singer Robert Palmer.

Their self-titled debut gets a 40th anniversary overhaul, with a double gatefold vinyl adding raw instrumentals, previously unreleased 1985 live sets, Live Aid performances, and alternate edits including the ‘Some Like It Hot And The Heat Is On’ megamix. ‘Some Like It Hot’, ‘Murderess’ and ‘Go To Zero’ gain clarity and punch in the 2025 remaster, while live recordings of ‘Get It On (Bang A Gong)’ and ‘Murderess’ place the band’s studio prowess in dialogue with their stage energy, highlighting the interplay of funk-driven grooves and razing rock riffs.
