Madonna continues her long, strong creative pairing with producer and musician Stuart Price (Zoot Woman) – begun during their joint mid-2000s axis – with Confessions II, picking up the rope of Confessions On A Dance Floor and stretching its continuous mix to a more immersive, two-disc sequel. The manifesto lands early in ‘One Step Away’, tapping an anthropological take on nightclub-as-ritual culture, one long a feature in Madonna’s concept and imagery ever since ‘Vogue’. Unlike its predecessor’s straight-through momentum, this sequel goes harder on somatic pacing, comedown passages and rebuilds mapped like a full night’s trajectory. The large multiformat rollout includes this translucent red vinyl edition, housed in a hot pink sleeve, liners, sleeve and pullout poster serving a saturated palette of sweat-lit rooms and neon spill.
